Rob Cohen was born and raised in the Boston, MA area, where he graduated from Harvard University in 1982. After spending two years apprenticing at a law firm in Madison, Wisconsin he returned to Boston where he attended Boston University School of Law, passed the Massachusetts Bar, and began to practice law as a litigator on the "front lines" as an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Boston.
After several years of conducting litigation, Robert was named General Counsel to City of Boston Zoning Board of Appeals and formed and acted as Director for the Boston Environmental Strike Team in 1996. This innovative approach to improving the urban quality of life was recognized by the EPA as a model for municipal action.
In 1999, Robert was appointed Director of Plans and Zoning for the City of Boston and Assistant Commissioner of the Inspection Services Department where he remained for three years until moving to Arizona. Once in Arizona, Robert passed the Bar in the summer of 2002 while doing municipal contract work in the Phoenix area.
In 2003, he received his Arizona Real Estate License. Robert has directed over $160 million in residential real estate transactions in Arizona. He set up the Rob Cohen Group at Keller Williams in 2005. Since 2008, he has been a Top Ten Agent in the State of Arizona (as per Ranking Arizona) and was a Top Producer there every year. In the summer 2017 Rob decided to transfer his license to a boutique agency that some of his colleagues founded called Desert Dream Realty located in Old Town Cave Creek. He is a Top Producing Agent there as well.
The current focus of Roberts life, aside from his love of real estate, are his wife Cindy and his two boys, James and Matthew. Robert enjoys hiking, travel, tennis, writing (he has published articles in several legal journals), golf and history. He made the move to Arizona so that his parents, who resided in Scottsdale since 1995, would have the opportunity to watch their grandchildren thrive in the Arizona sunshine.
Rob has extensive experience in complex negotiation, distressed sales, land use, and zoning and building code issues. He has spent his life in public service and working to improve people's quality of life. He is eager to work with you to help meet your goals.
